This is a class I attended yesterday. Seats placed six feet apart. Everyone wearing a mask. Here’s why this won’t work in the fall for our children:

All of us in the back: couldn’t hear, couldn’t see the screen, couldn’t pay attention because we couldn’t engage with the teacher
/2 #ProtectOurChildren #MaskUp #SchoolReopening

We had to sign in, so we all touched the same three ring-binder, the same pen, and had the teacher’s aide by our side as she gave us the sign-in and delivered materials to us. Those who couldn’t hear her had to have her lean in #ProtectOurChildren #MaskUp #SchoolReopening

How long do you think it took to get everyone out of this class and maintain a six-foot distance? Not the few minutes that kids usually have between classes to get from one to another #ProtectOurChildren #MaskUp #SchoolReopening

Not only should this account make you think twice about schools reopening, it should also make you worry about how we will #ProtectOurVote in November, for this was election school in advance of Alabama’s primary run-off #VoteSafeAL #VoteByMail

It was very difficult for county election managers to find poll workers. Many regulars refused out of concern for exposure to #COVID19. No one blames them as they are disproportionately at risk due to age and the underlying health risks that come with older age #VoteByMail

They have promised us masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes, a thermometer, and a six-foot pole to help us space seats and spots in line. But we can’t prevent any sick or maskless person from entering the polling place #VoteSafeAL #VoteByMail
/7

We have no mask mandate in Alabama. Many people wear nothing or wear their masks with their noses and sometimes mouths exposed. Alabama’s #Covid19 caseload is rapidly increasing #VoteSafeAL #VoteByMail

We expect a very low turnout at my precinct as it is a runoff for the Republican senate primary to choose an opponent for @DougJones #VoteSafeAL #VoteByMail #ALSen #alpolitics

We were told we are the test to see how this will work in November when we expect a huge turnout. That’s not encouraging #VoteSafeAL #VoteByMail #alpolitics #NovemberIsComing

The @alasecofstate is not working to make it easier to #VoteByMail but instead is fighting lawsuits brought by advocates for #VotingRights. Everyone blames Alabama law, shirking responsibility to change it or make a #pandemic exception

I am worried about next Tuesday. I dread #ElectionDay in November. I am also regretting that I agreed to serve as a poll worker. Why are @JohnHMerrill and @GovernorKayIvey forcing me to choose between my health and my vote

We still have time to avert disaster in November. @GovernorKayIvey: call a special session, enact no-excuse absentee voting. #alpolitics needs fair and SAFE elections. Too late for @jeffsessions and @TTuberville voters. Don’t make the same mistake again
