/ I noticed with amusement the comments questioning my referring to @nelsonchamisa as Sekuru. It’s quite simple, vanoyera Moyo vese madziSekuru vangu as my mother is a Moyo. I’m a cultural person at heart & I deeply respect the protocols accordingly.
/ My mother’s mother (Mbuya vangu) is Shonga/Nyathi (Muzvare). Baba vaMai vangu (Sekuru vangu) is Moyo which is my mother’s totem. Amai va Baba vangu (Mbuya vangu) is MaNcube/Soko. Baba vaBaba vangu (Sekuru vangu) ndoShumba.
/ My paternal grandfather is from Shurugwi, my paternal grandmother, from Silobela, Nkayi. This is where we get our Ndebele names from. My maternal grandfather is from Mozambique, my maternal grandmother is from Rusape.
/ Just in case you may question my Zambian birth, I was born there as my father went to Zambia during the liberation struggle and met my mother there who was doing nursing.
/ It’s important kuziva kwamabva... saka vana Moyo vese, madzi Sekuru vangu out there I greet you today 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. And I hope kuti ndichaita dzimwe hama futi after this 😁
