both liberal "wokeness" & liberal anti-"wokeness" are lucrative grifts for aspiring media class types, so they're invested in maintaining the facade that they're actually battling over Core Principles, that they're engaged in some Heroic War. they're just jockeying for positions
which fraction of the liberal media class do you want to join? the zerlina maxwell/roxane gay/jelani cobb fraction, or the lee fang/matt yglesias/bari weiss fraction? in other words, what vocabulary and conceptual scheme have you internalized, and what grift do you want to sell
of course the right answer is they're both contemptible, and share a fundamental commitment to the status quo. so when they see a multi-racial working class uprising, they use their own conceptual schemes to vilify and smear it, a shrieking in unison of "THAT WAY LIES BARBARISM"
the anti-woke freaks begin to talk about "black on black crime", and both talk about how "race riots" actually hurt democrats getting elected because they scare rich white people, about "white outside agitators"; suddenly the anti-wokes see nothing but the race of the protesters
btw neither of them are committed to any principles aside from their liberalism. the performatively "woke" ones do rape apologia for biden, they don't give af about the victims of empire, who's heard of palestine? clinton said superpredators who care? biden crime bill who care?
the "anti-wokes" immediately start talking about their "lived experience as an asian-american" when they're criticized. "HEY THIS LETTER WAS SIGNED BY TWO BLACK PEOPLE YOU ARE ERASING US". did you know I'm a woman/gay/trans btw so I can't be sexist/homophobic/transphobic?
ask all the people from both fractions of the liberal class who they're going to vote for, and 9 out of 10 will say biden. yeah some will add "BUT IN THE PRIMARY I WAS FOR BERNIE/WARREN/HARRIS", idgaf. they're all biden democrat blue no matter who types. fuck them all
