The more I read the idiotic comments on the @EdmontonEsks social media feeds about the name, the more I want to disassociate myself from the fan base in general because some people are so ignorant and clueless as to why the team name issue keeps coming up.

If you're too ignorant and selfish to understand the bigger problem with it, than simply saying "Inuit people have no problem with the name" or "Inuit people love the name", then you aren't listening.

I was originally against it when it got some traction back in 2015 when the Esks were in the Grey Cup.

But then every time it came since then, my opinion has changed.

And I now wish the @EdmontonEsks would just change it because frankly I'm tired of reading the ignorance of people that call themselves "fans" of the team.

The people that don't want it to change don't understand that they are part of the systemic racism problem we have in this country/world.

You can say you aren't racist, but that's a bold faced lie.

Every human has thought or said something racist in their lives, even though it might not seem blatant.

So please @EdmontonEsks just change your name.

I hope that 2020 will be the last year the team is named the Eskimos.

Not only is the right thing to do, but it's the smart thing to do.

I know it costs money to do that. Lots of money.

But as the old saying goes, it costs money to make money.

And in all honesty you'll lose more money if you don't change it.

And for all you fans threatening to not renew season tickets or never cheer for the team or league again for "going soft" and for "caving in to Liberal social pressure".

You're the same douchebags that complain about the Esks changing their social media profile pics to a rainbow flag for "Pride Month" or whenever they support LGBTQ+ community initiatives and ideas.

If it makes you feel better just say you're doing it cause one selfish fan (aka Joe Balaneski) begged you to and you want save his sanity while reading your social media feeds.
