My body has not been the same since I’ve had the virus. Yesterday I got tested again because I’ve been feeling extremely out of breath again and fatigued. Thankfully I’m negative, but that doesn’t change that there are clearly issues with this virus beyond our scope of view.
I haven’t been able to work out again, my brain feels constantly foggy, my digestive system is a mess. If I talk and walk at the same time, I’ll often need to take a break to catch my breath. This isn’t normal.
Tested positive for antibodies and negative for current infection (twice). This is great news and I’ll be donating my plasma soon. Unfortunately, my lungs are still not functioning at full capacity and will need a steroid inhaler twice a day until idk when.
Oh and it costs $250 because it’s not covered by insurance and there’s no generic

So the inhaler I was prescribed actually made my symptoms worse. Now I’ve been put on leave from work until I can have a pulmonary function and cardiac test done.

The kicker is, hardly anywhere will run these tests due to the very reason I need these tests. I love our healthcare system.
I share this with ya'll as a reminder that a lot of people don't just recover and move on. I know people who have needed heart valve replacements after having had the virus, even lung transplants.
After months of trying to figure out what’s been going, not being able to work, or be as active as I used to be, I finally have some answers. A CT scan showed I have multiple nodules in my lungs, most likely due to the infection.
This can mean many many things and I’m working this out as I go but again, here to remind y’all that this is real and has consequences that linger long after the virus is gone.
