Republican Ralph Shortey, former state senator & chairman of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in Oklahoma was indicted on 4 counts of child sex trafficking and child pornography and on September 17, 2018, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Republican Dennis Hastert, former Speaker of the House from 1999 to 2007 & congressman of Illinois, was indicted on federal charges of molesting 4 young boys and on April 27, 2016, he was sentenced to 15 months in prison.

Republican Strom Thurmond, the segregationist who was senator of South Carolina for 48 years, raped a 15-year-old black girl, who was also his house servant, producing a child that he hid from the world.

Republican Mike Folmer, former state senator in Pennsylvania for 12 years, pled guilty to 3 counts of child pornography after sharing it to Tumblr under the username "hoser44" and on July 21, 2020, he was sentenced to 1 to 2 years in county jail.

Republican Paul Petersen, an elected county assessor in Arizona, pled guilty on June 24, 2020 to a human-smuggling scheme across multiple states where he trafficked pregnant women from the Marshall Islands to the U.S. and paid for their babies over 70 times. He awaits sentencing.
