A thread of my top 10 favourite Hip Hop albums of all time. Before I go ahead I want to make it clear that these are my personal favourites and not what I think are the greatest / best hip hop albums, just the ones I have enjoyed the most. RTs Appreciated đź’«
First of all, I want to showcase these amazing albums which have just missed out on my top 10, I love all of these albums and on another day they could have made it.
10. Frank Ocean - Channel Orange

This album was played so much for me throughout High School and it just brings back some of the best memories I’ve ever had. Controversially this is my favourite Frank album and is more iconic for me than Blond is.

Favourite Track - Pyramids
9. Dr Dre - 2001

The definition of a classic. The mixing and mastering on this album are so perfect. There are so many memorable songs on this album which really got me into hip hop and introduced me to the music I love today.

Favourite Track - Forget About Dre (Ems best feat)
8. Eminem - Relapse

Despite the bad reception this album received when it first released it has since aged like a fine wine. I absolutely love the concept of this album and it also includes some of Dres best production.

Favourite Tracks - Deja Vu / Stay Wide Awake / Music Box
7. 50 Cent - Get Rich or Die Tryin’

Undoubtedly one of the greatest essential rap albums of all time. 50 really doesn’t miss on this and there are so many catchy hooks. Many Men might be 50s best song OAT.

Favourite tracks - If I Can’t, Heat, Many Men and Patiently Waiting
6. Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon

I play this album every time I feel even remotely sad and it never fails to make me happy. I LOVE the world Cudi created here and I have countless memories to it. @KidCudi really created a beautiful masterpiece here.

Favourite Track - Up Up & Away
5. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

In my opinion this is one of the most perfect albums this genre has ever seen. I will always see this as Kanye’s best ever work and I revisit it constantly. He really did create history with this album.

Favourite track - Runaway
4. Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city

This has to be my most played album in the last 10 years. I don’t hand out classics often but for me GKMC comes under that category. I would put this amongst the greatest hip hop albums OAT.

Favourite tracks - Money Trees, m.A.A.d city
3. Eminem - The Eminem Show

I owe a lot to this album for being one of my first introductions to hip hop. There are so many classic tracks on here from a prime Em. I think it cemented Eminem’s legacy and includes much of his best work.

Favourite Track - Cleanin’ Out My Closet
2. Mac Miller - Swimming

Swimming was the first full album I listened to by Mac and I couldn’t have had a better intro. Mac is now one of my favourite artists. Every song on this masterpiece is perfect to me and I listen to the full album most nights.

Favourite track - Dunno

My favourite album of all time. Nothing can beat it, these are the songs I grew up to. This is the album that confirmed me as a fan of hip hop and it changed EVERYTHING for me.
