[THREAD] Emiliano Buendia for 25 million is a better buy than Houssem Aouar for 50 million.

This definitely would not go down well with fans who have been spreading Aouar prop all month, so before you comment, do give it a read. 👍
Before we get into comparing the players, it needs to be known that Norwich are 20th in the table, while Lyon finished 7th in Ligue 1.

The French side have scored twice the number of goals Norwich did itl this season. (1/n)
🌟 Houssem Aouar is 22.
A central mid on paper, who mostly plays in an advanced/attacking role through the left side.

🌟 Emi Buendia is 23.
A right winger on paper, who mostly plays in the half spaces and through the centre/right, as an attacking midfielder.

(2/n)
Lyon and Norwich are both teams who love to keep possesion, dictate play with more of short passes and dominate the game with the ball at their feet.

So both players are used to playing and performing against deep defensive blocks; perfect for Arsenal. (3/n)
Buendia has not got any goals to his name, however, his involvement in Norwich's attacking play is staggering.

He goes under the radar because he plays for Norwich City and is not French. (4/n)
Buendia is more versatile than Aouar, not just in the diff positions he can play in, but his ability to adapt to different oppositions.

Creative with the ball and far from being a liability without it. Sorry for the dig but I hope you got my point. (5/n)
Emi Buendia completes 4.1 dribbles per 90 in the league, only behind Adama Traore (5.3), Wilfred Zaha (4.5) and Allan Saint Maximin (4.6).

All the three are strong, pacy, natural wingers, made for dribbling while dribbling is not even Buendia's best quality. (6/n)
No Arsenal player in the top 10, while Auba is the 2nd highest scorer in the league.

I can only imagine how impactful Buendia would be if he had Aubameyang upfront and not Pukki. (7/n)
Solely based on their goal/assist involvements. The difference in the quality of teams they come up against every week is massive.

Buendia has genuinely turned out to be better than I thought. (8/n)
Emi Buendia outclasses Houssem Aouar at being a complete midfielder, while his creativity and workrate is unmatched.

As offensive as this sounds, Aouar is a special player but the hype is more due to his nationality. (9/n)
Buendia would cost as much as half of what Aouar would and if Arsenal register their interest in him, the Gunners can buy him for peanuts if Norwich get relegated. (10/n)
On the other hand, Aouar has caught attention from top clubs, courtesy of his performances for the under-21 French team as well as for Lyon.

With teams like Man City and Juventus in for him, it would be wise for Arsenal to not take part in a bidding contest. (11/n)
Conclusion:

Emi Buendia is putting up *those* statistics and outperforming the best midfielders while playing in the prem for the worst team in the table.

He has showed that he is a top baller, with his best performances this season coming against Man City. (12/n)
That should be enough reasoning, hopefully. 😬
