The Orthodox community has a homophobia problem. Yes, this does include the Modern Orthodox community.
I know saying this will make so many members of the Orthodox community mad, but it needs to be talked about. Whenever I mention this members of the Orthodox community always shut me down. I was raised Modern Orthodox and it was so homophobic and toxic. Stop trying to deny it.
This is not coming from a place of hate, rather this is coming from a place of love. I love the orthodox community so much, but it has problems. I like to say that “I never went off the derech, rather orthodoxy rejected me” because that is exactly what happened.
