Let’s discuss one of the worst COVID-19 takes I’ve heard this weekend, the “we’re all going to get it anyway.” This is a lazy, ignorant, and potentially fatal, approach to take to this pandemic.
Imagine if people said that at the start of the HIV epidemic. Imagine if that community hadn’t taken the necessary precautions to slow the spread of HIV. 700,000 Americans died of HIV/AIDS by 2018. The numbers would be far larger if the community hadn’t taken steps to protect.
Beyond that, for the 85th time, THIS IS NOT THE FLU.

THIS IS NOT THE FLU.

More and more evidence is showing COVID-19 as a blood vessel disease. Which we the disease is looking like a cardiovascular infection rather than a respiratory infection. https://elemental.medium.com/coronavirus-may-be-a-blood-vessel-disease-which-explains-everything-2c4032481ab2
These finding support why doctors are seeing so many young people with COVID who have blood clots and experience strokes. Small vessel and capillary damage is what creates the “low exygen” state that ER Drs are seeing and treating all over the world.
Scientists have been trying to work out why children are much less likely than adults to experience severe complications from COVID 19. At first, some thought it was their immune systems. Now many think it may be the condition of their blood vessels.

In autopsies of COVID-19 patients, tiny clots and dead cells littered the capillaries of the lungs, and inflammation had distended blood vessels supplying every organ in the body. Again, this is disease attacking blood vessels via vascular network. https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/06/blood-vessel-attack-could-trigger-coronavirus-fatal-second-phase
Drs are starting to see residual lung damage, cardiovascular damage, and cardiomyopathy in survivors.

My point: this is not the flu. And throwing up your hands & saying “everyone is going to get it” sounds a lot like abandoning ur post & deciding not to hold the line in battle.
(This is the closest thing I will have to a TED Talk so thanks for coming and sorry for all the typos.)
