Sturgeon is a crap ‘leader’.

I’ve spent a good deal of time studying management and leadership (I have a degree in it and about 15 years experience as a leader) and leadership is actually something that can be quantified and measured.

There are some fundamental measures 1/10
whereby a good leader is judged.

• Delegation. A good leader delegates effectively. An good example of good delegation is Johnson allowing his strong and capable cabinet to lead the daily covid update. Contrast this with Sturgeon who *has* to lead every single one.
What can 2/1
we conclude from this? We can conclude that she doesn’t or can’t trust anyone else to do it. This is more relevant to the next section. We can also conclude that she’s neglecting other duties because she’s dedicating time to the daily Nippy show. This is dereliction in favour 3/1
of something she either enjoys, can’t trust to someone else or political opportunism. Inability or unwillingness to delegate is a fundamental failure of leadership. Delegation isn’t simply telling other people to do something. It allows people to develop and frees up the 4/10
leader for other, more important duties. This strengthens a team and ensures future success. The fact sturgeon isn’t doing this shows that she’s playing politics from day one.
• Succession planning.
Before Derek MacKay was exposed as grooming a schoolchild, he was 3-1
5/10
odds-on favourite to succeed sturgeon. She literally picked a groomer who turned up to work drunk on several occasions (known to sturgeon and I’ll come on to that in a minute) and didn’t even compete further education. This is the character that she was grooming to succeed 6/10
her. Think on that. This links to delegation. Why hasn’t her McCabinet lead the Daily update. Partly because she’s using it as a Party Political Broadcast but mainly because she can’t trust any of her people. That’s no leader.
• Decisiveness.
Back on to MacKay, Sturgeon 7/10
tolerated MacKay turning up to work drunk on several occasions. She refused to sack him when he was found to be grooming a schoolchild. She refused to sack Calderwood, instead, crucifying her in public which concluded in her resignation. Sturgeon supported her throughout 8/10
The correct thing to do with these three examples is take action against the persons involved. The fact that she didn’t shows an unwillingness or inability to take a hard decision. Something that she’s avoided doing since 2014. She never takes a hard decision. Abject failure 9/10
to lead on all counts.

These are the fundamental measures of leadership and she fails on every measure.
