Let's not forget the first state funded, aka Universal Healthcare system anywhere in the UK began in the Highlands and Islands in 1912.
That scheme was used as the blueprint for the NHS we know and love today.

The UK government set up a National Health Insurance scheme for Highland residents to pay ie NI.
The Highlands have had 101 years of universal healthcare.

3/ Muriel Ritson CBE (1885–1980) was part of the 1942 Beveridge Report which helped lead to the creation of the NHS in 1948 by Nye Bevan.
Ritson previously administered HIMS so had direct experience in universal healthcare. She deserves more recognition.
