Warm Intros have been key to my learnings through network expansion. But the key is to get the right warmth in the intro.
There are 4 types of intros IMO (assuming double opt-in)
Lukewarm, Warm, Boiling Warm, and Volcanic Warm

Lukewarm
- SG works at ABC. She would like to chat with you to learn more about [ ]. This generally is worse than a cold email and should be the last resort.

Warm - SG has been building ABC, doing some interesting work, and understands the space well. Believe there can be learnings for both (generally longer intros and some context setting). This is the bare minimum level.

Boiling Warm - Warm + a side whats app/email - how well you know SG, how she helped you ; adding that informal touch (this takes thoughtful 2 mins but many introducers don’t do it). These are the ones you should mostly strive for

And my favorite is
Volcanic Warm - Boiling ++ / involves a phone call to chat about SG/ v personalized
@somani_utsav did one for me recently
If multiple options, it's imperative to choose a person with Boiling/Volcanic Intros. You rather wait but get the right one

Requestor's Responsibility?
a. Be prompt in replying once connected
b. Don't spam the introducer
c. Once chat happens, please drop a simple thankyou message to the introducer

Introducers Responsibility ?
I practice and believe that introducers should be transparent about the level of intro you can comfortably give so the requestor can find alternatives if wants to.
And if you promise a certain kind of intro, plz take out time for that warmth.
