I’m going to stick my 10 pence worth in about Wigan, this will probably end up being my £9.99 worth.

Wigan Athletic have become a victim of 2 blokes, I know of the situation and there is a lot of things that have been found out and said around these 2 fairly mysterious people
more than I can do justice and be honest at this point adding an extra badly informed voice in myself won’t help anyone or anything.
Here we are though, Wigan are in Administration a situation so bizare that it has even left Football Specific Administrators baffled.
My anger and frustration is towards the EFL, the regulatalory body, the people who make the rules and enforce them, the body whose number one priority is to protect the games integrity and protect its, the back stop for all, and they have failed, yet again.
The EFL have lost sight of what football clubs are. They are not places you attend that simply dispense entertainment in return for money. They’re more than that, they are local employers, a place you go to see friends, bump into people, take your family to.
When you go to your football club you are automatically part of your in a lot of cases at the absolute dead centre if your community and Wigan Athletic is that force behind its community.
I have seen just on Twitter some of the amazing things they do, writing letters to fans who have lost loved ones, to fans who have mental health problems and to older fans during Lockdown.
We all saw it in the 2013 FA Cup Final, Emerson Boyce leading that Wigan Athletic team put at Wembley and in his arms he was carrying Joesph Kendrick ( @JosephsGoal).
Football Clubs are Community Institutions, they offer and provide emotional support (and despair), untangable things, things a Public Body cannot give you. If you lose your club you lose your community,
I’ve lost a football club and let me tell you now, its shit. We came back, Bury will come back, and they will be the centre of he community again.
It needn’t be like this, it shouldn’t be like this. Football Clubs need and deserve institutional protection not for the sake of not expunging fixtures but for the sake of the bigger picture and the communities they exist in.
I wrote this in the car. Thats no excuse for my fat fingers and my spelling of a 9 year old.

I wasn’t driving, your honour.
