how the indian state is copying america’s methods in destabilizing black communities through drugs but in kashmir.
in an attempt to destabilize the black community, the reagan administration’s cia introduced cocaine into black communities.
the media vilified black people so much that a racialized term emerged mainly for black cocaine addicts, a “crackhead”, which is still in common use today.
the media portrayed black people as drug addicts and abusers, who absconded from their family and gave away all their wealth for some cocaine. it destabilized black communities by tearing families apart and causing division.
in this way the cia managed to tear apart the bonds of the black community and ruin the lives of many black people, which continued for generations.
india implements this in a similar manner by opening wine shops and encouraging drug traffickers. people who are apprehended with drugs are usually connected to the government and are let off with a slap on the wrist.
already 17,000 people abuse heroin in srinagar and anantnag. this goes unchecked because it is pushed by the government to destabilize the people.
india encourages this so that:
1. the people of kashmir become addicted to alcohol and drugs and cause rifts among each other, tearing families apart.
2. in the most militarized zone in the world, 45 percent of kashmir’s population suffers from some sort of mental distress. substance abuse is a way to escape these problems ( as unhealthy and dangerous as it is) and it will plunge kashmiris into a deeper mental health crisis.
3. it makes it easier for the indian state to vilify the kashmiri people as drug addicts and alcoholics, portraying the azaadi movement to the very rigid standards of south asia as run by “improper” drug addicts and gangsters.
kashmiris must oppose the infiltration of our communities and those who try to break us apart and cause division. introducing wine shops and drugs isn’t quirky or progressive, it’s india employing a strategy to tear down the kashmiri people.
