Wishing you all a very Happy Guru Poornima🙏

Guru Purnima is an Indian festival dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers. This festival is traditionally celebrated by Hindus to pay their reverences to their teachers and express their gratitude.
The festival is celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) in the month of Aashaadh (June–July). The period 'Chaturmasya' ("four months") begins from this day. The celebration is marked by ritualistic respects to the Guru (Guru Pooja)
The Guru principle is said to be a thousand times more active on the day of Guru Purnima than on any other day. The Guru is very important in the life of a person. The word Guru is derived from two words, ‘Gu’ and ‘Ru’.
The Sanskrit root ‘Gu’ signifies darkness or ignorance, and ‘Ru’ signifies the remover of that darkness. Therefore a Guru is one who removes the darkness of our ignorance.

"Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu, Gurur Devo Maheshwara,
Guru Sakshat Parabrahmah Tasmai Shree Gurave Namaha"
Guru is Brahma, Guru is Vishnu, Guru is Lord Maheshwara. Guru is the personification of the supreme power, I bow to the holy Guru in homage.
The above mantra clearly signifies that a Guru is trinity (Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh), and it is believed that through a Guru one can achieve the ultimate result and reach to the supreme power.
In yogic lore, it is said that Guru Purnima is the day that saw the birth of the Adi Guru, or the first Guru. This day is the birthday of Krishna Dwaipayana Vyasa. This day is also known as Vyasa Purnima.
In fact Vyasa Purnima was how it was originally known and it came to be known as Guru Purnima with the passage of time.
Sri Veda Vyasa has done exemplary service for the growth of Sanatana Dharma by classifying the four Vedas – the Rig Veda, the Yajur Veda, the Sama Veda, and the Atharva Veda, writing the eighteen Puranas, the great epic Mahabharata and Srimad Bhagavatham.
