What does pacifying Malcolm X’s legacy look like? (Especially from many non-black Muslims) It is quoting his famous post-hajj speech on race whilst omitting other speeches (also post hajj) like... contd
“It’s true I’m a Muslim, I believe in brotherhood and I believe in the brotherhood of all men. But my religion doesn’t make me a fool” (contd) or...
“My religion teaches me be for right of all human beings, but especially the Afro-American human beings, because my religion is a natural religion and the first law of nature is self preservation.”
Yes, Malcolm moved away from NOI usage of “Devils”, bt to say he somehow became less concerned about black people and the black struggle post hajj couldn’t be further from the truth. His primary concern, which was consistent throughout his life was the liberation of black people.
And the black liberation struggle has always been one that raises the voices of all oppressed people, wherever and whoever they are. ✌🏿 #MalcolmX
