Not back on social media. Only sharing a piece I wrote on a day where many celebrate a freedom too many have never known.

Freeing Black Fates & Capturing Black Freedom: Reclaiming Our Humanity, Contextualizing Our Trauma & Honoring Our Resistance

Link: http://bit.ly/captureblackfreedom
It contains heavy and painful content so please use discretion.

It touches on many issues and connections that I think are critical. It is a validation of Black humanity and a celebration of Black resistance.
It's an acknowledgement of Black people’s collective complex traumas-a naming of what occurs after centuries of stolen, swinging, swollen Black bodies is followed by erasure of this violence and problematizing of our resistance to white supremacist violence.
It connects past & present traumas & resistance; tracks the diagnosing & criminalization of dissent/resistance; names ongoing gaslighting of Black people who “resist”/run from police;
offers new words to capture some of what we're experiencing/feeling (ex noircraticide, Perpetual Traumatic Racism Based Stress); invites folks to hold the complexities of Black disabled identities while challenging ppl to engage in more learnings on conxns bt racism & ableism.
I hope more Black people feel seen, understood & held after reading parts of this. I wont be able to participate in convos arnd this right now but wanted to put it into the universe.

Humble thx @FrankGallimorefor for artwork that comes w this piece.
