He saw the faults of the Jedi and he even tried bringing it up. He knew they lost sight of what they were truly meant for. Their connection to the living force was waning as was their connection with all living beings.
Read Master & Apprentice. It’s an amazing book and gives a lot of insight into Qui-Gon’s ways of thinking.
