Something that needs to be pointed out and clarified regarding the rape culture at TBLS:
A lot of alumni and teachers who are shocked at what’s been happening at TBLS are TOO quick to say “administrators didn’t know about this,” “administrators weren’t informed” etc.

While there are some administrators who probably weren’t individually informed or knew about certain cases, one of the main reasons why rape culture has been perpetuated at TBLS for so long is because there are administrators WHO KNEW about these cases and instances
Instead of protecting students, they ignored, punished, and shamed survivors. There are countless accounts of survivors who spoke up and/or reported to a teacher only for those they trusted with their stories to side with their abusers.
That’s why this petition and the calls to action are so important. In order to end the pervasive rape culture in this school, enablers (who yes include your teachers and co-workers and peers) must be held accountable.
