I think of the countless veterans who were willing to confront evil even at the cost of their own lives time and time again.

America has a complicated history and has allowed evil to flourish. But there have always been good people who were willing to take a stand for what they knew to be noble, true, and good. No matter the cost.
And that’s the America I’m proud of. Focus on what unites, not divides.
