With everything going on right now -- JK, strident exclusionism on social media, anti-pan, anti-aspec, anti-queer rhetoric-- it's time to reshare this. It's important ppl understand from where it all originates, how it links together, why it's happening & what the agenda is https://twitter.com/AcesArosEnbies/status/1260425279165644801
Understand this: TERFs may target & harm trans people with their rhetoric, but this is extended to include the wider movement defending them:the LGBTQIA+ community. Splitting us off and dividing us against each other serves their agenda. A divided movement can't defend trans ppl
Radfems have admitted aphobia is used as a tactic to recruit & radicalise ppl towards broader exclusionary radfem beliefs, with TERF being the ultimate 'destination'. Some don't make it all the way--they wind as partially radicalised exclusionists who stop short of transphobia.
There are documented historical examples of radical 'lesbian' feminists stoking the flames of biphobia, transphobia, and anti-queer sentiment. This goes way beyond targeting of trans ppl alone. 'TERF' is insufficient way of catagorising this problematic core in radfem.
