#HappyFourthOfJuly from 1918! I forgot to share my diary entry from yesterday, so I'll share both my entry from July 3rd *and* July 4th...you lucky dogs!

THREAD!
July 3rd 1918
Transferred from Camp Leach to Wash Barracks on this date assigned to Co. “D” 604th Engrs. Geo. Branchaud wasn’t transf’d. Will miss him because he has been a good pal.

July 4th 1918
We were issued our rifles today. Had to clean them before we left camp. Got...
thru about noon. Had dinner at camp (swell dinner) Then went out to Glen Echo and met Geo. Staid out there till about 9.30. Went up town and had some chop suey then back to camp at 12.30."

So, no burgers or brats or dogs for George on the Fourth; just some classic...chop suey?!
Happy Fourth everyone! That's all from 1918!
