Ok let me clear something up because I have been getting non stop DMs this morning. You CAN get mad at name calling, you CAN get mad at being called a Karen. What you shouldn’t be doing is comparing the insult of being called a Karen to using the n word they are NOT (1)
By any means the same. Actually there are a lot words that are worse than being called a Karen that are not nearly as offensive as the n word is. I have been called a “spic” by some Twitter trolls quite a few times and that word is hugely offensive to the latino community (2)
It is more offensive than being called a Karen and I would never in my mind equate the word “spic” to the n word. So again I repeat myself read about the history of the n word and LOOK at how black ppl are treated in this country. Yes, you can get offended by being called a (3)
Karen. Yes it feels lousy to be named called. But, For those of you making the ageism argument being a Karen is more about acting entitled than about being over 50. If ageism makes you angry you can be angry at the term. But PLEASE stop and think about what you are saying (4).
The n word is a racial slur, Karen is about an attitude. Thank you (5).
