It requires a long term commitment to building conversational capacity around race and systems of oppression paired with changes to the behaviors that you reward and punish in order to incentivize dismantling those systems. 2/
That means changing your hiring and recruiting practices, performance review system, decision making processes, benefits packages, and more.

You need to build a system to fight the system. 3/
And not all of your employees are going to be able to make that transition successfully. That includes some of your favorite ones. Folks who you currently consider your top performers might have to go, and you’re going to have to be the one to do it.
