This whole “leaving cities” discourse makes me think how so many of us have no real ties to the places we live in and why it’s so easy to leave. Sure, the rent is high and the space limited but are those the only things that matter?
Are cities that live in solely things we consume or are they also living things that we in part make up?
Another series of thoughts brought on by seeing multiple UHaul trucks on a 3 block walk to the corner store.
Never felt douchier than having talked about a ~ discourse ~
Like, the allure of rootlessness and a life spread around the world (or bicoastal if you are a savage American) is strong but it does hit you hard at some point.
The people who’d put multiple cities in their Twitter bio would probably also call themselves sapiosexual and be very boring.
