Jimmie Johnson says his two children are negative for the virus while he and his wife are positive.
Jimmie Johnson is asymptomatic. "I literally have had zero symptoms." He doesn't know how long he's had COVID-19.
Johnson says he and his family have been very diligent and very cautious, so this shows how contagious the virus is if they could catch it. If wife Chani hadn't gotten tested, they wouldn't have known and continued to come into contact with people in the community, he says.
Jimmie Johnson says although it would be tempting to be bummed about how this has affected his retirement season, he just turns on the news to see how the virus has affected others and feels thankful he doesn't have worse issues.
Jimmie Johnson says he's been feeling like they've been doing all they can to avoid virus. Wearing masks, washing hands. Says they have no idea how they got it or when or where. "I don't think you can be careful enough." Urges people to not let their guard down.
Jimmie Johnson says he's coping with missing out on some of his "lasts" (like the Brickyard) because of the chance he could return in the future on a select basis.

"I'm hopeful I have an opportunity to come back and run a Hendrick Cup car in some races," he says.
Jimmie Johnson's emotions upon learning of positive COVID-19 test: "Blown away, surprised, caught off guard, embarrassed to some respect, fearful of the impact it would have on my race team and the folks at Ganassi I came into contact with (in preparation for IndyCar test)."
Jimmie Johnson: "I know everyone is tired of the lockdown and the new normal we've experienced, but it really is for a reason." He's worried about who he may have affected by walking around with COVID-19 and not knowing he had it.
