𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐎 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐖 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐓𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑
Let me tell you a secret:

This isn't my first account.

Long time ago, I had another account. My idea was to educate people on economics and data science.

But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get past the 20 followers mark.

I was 𝒇𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅.
You might know this feeling very well.

You spend +1h carefully writing a thread about an important topic you're knowledgeable.

You click the "Tweet" button, hoping that lots of people will benefit from your insight.

And then...

Nothing happens.
You get only 1-2 Likes after you post it.

Perhaps you also get a retweet from one of your dearest friends, at most.

"Well, tough luck", you tell yourself.

"My tweets have quality, so it's a matter of time that I'll get diffusion. I'll try again tomorrow."
You try it again tomorrow.

And again.

And again.

With little to no results. Maybe you've got a follower here and there, but that's it.

You realize that your efforts aren't paying off as expected.

To add salt to the wound, you find something that pisses you even more.
You find an account with >10.000 followers which spills mostly bullshit. Stuff that you know that it's simply 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠.

"This guy clearly doesn't know shit about what he says! But... How in hell does he have such a huge following?!"

Fuming, you leave Twitter for today.
Your carefully crafted posts barely generate engagement, but the uneducated opinion of a random dude generates tons of RTs and Likes.

You are confused at that sight.

So were I.

At least, until I found something.

The key that made me 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 what was going on.
I'm going to tell you a couple things that I've learnt.

1. Format MATTERS➡️ Two identical tweets will have different engagement according to their structure.

2. Tone MATTERS ➡️ Afirmations made in a absolute tone generate more engagement than warmlike opinions.

Example:
FORMAT:

"To be wealthy, you have to save money first. Then you have to invest it somewhere, preferently in a S&P500 ETF. Collect dividends, reinvest them and wait until compound interest does its thing. Gaining wealth is about patience!"

Compare it to:
"To be wealthy, you have to save money first.

Then, you have to invest it somewhere. Prefently in a S&P500 ETF.

Collect dividends. Reinvest them.

Wait until compound interest does its thing.

Gaining wealth is about patience!"

It reads VERY differently, doesn't it?
TONE:

"Socialism might be a good counterweight to capitalism, I think that a good mix of the best parts of each could constitute a great system!"

vs.

"Socialism > Capitalism. Eat the rich."
Most reasonable people will nod to the first statement and move on after. It's hard to strongly agree or disagree to a centric position.

But the second statement generates two concrete reactions: you'll either love it or hate it.

No half measures.
The second statement will always generate more engagement than the first because:

1. If you strongly agree, you'll hit the Like and/or RT button.

2. If you strongly disagree, you'll feel the need of telling the guy how wrong he is by commenting.
More things that matter more than you think:

· Your bio
· Your profile pic
· Your name and handle

All those little details add up and end dictating how many people see your content.
I've only covered the surface of what can you do to optimize your Twitter.

But how about I share with you something more interesting instead?

How about you learn the secrets of growth... from the very source, itself?
