tbh im really scared to be an artist in this day and age . Takashi Murakami is filling for bankruptcy . the internet plagiarizing the kiki flower make him bankrupt . Virgil and Off white used him for clout . and now he has no control over his creations . it's not fair .
the internet is a place where plagiarism is okay . this is wrong . artists are suffering . u can't post shit on the internet because people will take it and use it . that's why art now-a-days is elitist . artists can't grow a following without being plagiarized . give credit pls
Weiwei had the same treatment . he had an exhibition where he filled the Tate with hand-painted porcelain sunflower seeds . people at the time stole some filling their pockets with seeds to later sell them on eBay . the exhibition was canceled due to this issue . RESPECT ART
im quite sure Takashi doesn't care, he said one time "Rather than a big figure, I guess you could say I'm more of an influential minority symbol." but this is way bigger than him. he's just an example of the many artists how get treated this way.
