that viral tweet about how they can't stand being with their kids 4 straight months. lol we homeschooled ours so it's going on 20 years. Parents/carers are undersupported (um... no one knows this more than a homeschooler) but it's KIDS who need us & adults aren't victims of kids
anytime we shift the conversation 2talking about the vulnerability/needs of children, adults want to speak up and talk about how hard shit is. I mean that's all they do is complain & I think I already acknowledged parenting/caring is hard. Ready to shift the convo yet? nah?
what's it like for kids who get subpar care in schools, and live with adults who act like martyrs in caring for them? The sheer enormity of this social situation is so rarely talked about. It's always from the perspective of parents/teachers: oh I'm so tired oh I work so hard >
Yup. Yup I get it. I mean we homeschooled ours when we couldn't pay our rent but, no u don't want to hear about that. I've come to believe our society is pretty anti-child but sadly most adults keep wanting to center themselves & that is as far as they go. Complaining. Finally:
every time I talk about this someone comes in & tries to tell me how hard it is. LOL as if I don't acknowledge this & haven't written a body of work on that. OK when you're ready to move past that part of the convo let me know. Meanwhile don't @ me
OK a P.S. "oh I work so hard, this is so hard". Yeah your kid is working hard too. And they have a lot fewer resources than you. And they are working HARD. Trust
