In 1985-86 tour to Aus, Sir Hadlee picked up 33 wickets in the Series, which includes the famous 9 Wicket haul in the 1st innings at the Gabba.
Then a match winning 11W at Perth in the Perth test and NZ won that series. All cuz of the Herculean effort from Sir Hadlee.

In the 1984 summer, Hadlee achieved a rare double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets in an English season.
He was able to maintain very high standards & in 1987, picked up 97 wickets @ 12.64 and score 1111 runs @ 52.90.

In 1986 Eng tour, Sir Hadlee, at his very best in his adopted home of Trent Bridge, sliced through the host line up with a match return of 10-140 as NZ earned their 1st Test series win in Eng. Again, nt much of a support from other teammates. Lone Ranger- Sir Hadlee.
