If you want to be better allies to women and non-binary people in Melee, list your followers and make sure we’re represented. Aim for at least 40% of women.
You will probably need a following spree. With time, unfollow some, follow others - each of us have their own personality.

Here are some gender-minority people of Melee that I’d recommend following. If you have other names to add, of course, add them in replies!
@KafkahFC is a long-time feminist and Melee enthusiast. She’s been fighting for a better scene since 2016 and saw the French community evolve deeply over time. She also shitposts a lot: yay!
@JessicaCasts aka @JessicaaaaaX1 is one of Europe’s best commentators and an extraordinary woman who I really look up to. She’s the head organizer for the upcoming Eyes Open conference, too, so be sure to follow that project! https://twitter.com/JessicaaaaaX1/status/1275533403002191878
@sleepywaifushop is a wonderful artist, most well-known for her adorable plushies. She animates a vibrant community through her Discord server and her stream; she also advocates for all the causes you should care about.
@AlexandraLouxse, also from the UK, has been very outspoken about harassment in the European Melee scene and changed things for the better. She’s involved in the Eyes Open conference, too!
@ilaydaofz, aka Kebab, is mostly active on Ultimate, but I’m desperately trying to get her to come to Melee events because I really like her, so I’m including her in this thread. She’s a Turkish-Dutch musician and cosplayer with hot takes and gold selfies!
@Silent_Sheikah is also from the UK (I know, I know...) and you should DM her things about Fat Pikachu (her ask, not mine). You can also read her series of tips for playing Sheik, which she started a few days ago under #LynnSheikStuff.
@Chobbbbby is ALSO FROM THE UK (I can’t do anything about it leave me alone) and she’s my favourite news source in terms of harassment and crimes. She knows everything, she shares everything, and she also takes time to discuss everything. Thank her for her work!
@jananoly is an artist most well-known for her awesome Pokémon pins. She lives in the UK (and she lived in France and Germany before that), where she advocates for diversity in the MtG and Smash communities. Her international point of view is great food for thought!
@_lilchen and @emilywaves are the founders of Smash Sisters. They’re big names in the Melee scene, and hopefully you already follow them - if not, do it now, because they’re amazing role models!
@sp1nda_pgh is your new favourite Fox player. Between two sick combos, she makes videos about all kinds of Melee-related topics, from execution tests to the history of the Pittsburgh community, and speaks her mind openly about many issues.
@ChellyToms is a top-tier hangover companion AND an expert commentator, and she streams a lot of gaming and cosplaying too. Follow her for an original take on the US scene and daily life from a Welsh perspective!
And finally, two tiny accounts I discovered recently and am thoroughly enjoying: @Mailorlunare and @AriAutm have some really interesting things to say, so follow them and let’s make them big!
That’s it for me.
You may have noticed that the vast majority of these women are white. Intersectionality is important - let’s make our scene welcoming for all women and have a more inclusive list next time, and please, PLEASE, do reply with Melee-related women of color!
You can follow @lexanesirac.
