It did so on a prospectus of erecting new barriers to immigration and “taking back control.” What did Ryan & co think would happen? Of course it is theoretically possible for the UK to pursue the sort of liberal, market-oriented policies Ryan wants outside the EU. And.. (2/3)
...to be fair, on immigration Johnson so far has been much better than May. But in political economy terms this was always going to be running to stand still at best. Ryan’s own comrades – eg @s8mb – warned him of precisely this.
