I'm pro-masks but anti-bullshit which is why I still grit my teeth when I see "masks are proven effective".

I'm similarly annoyed by people who take these words say "Ha! See! Masks aren't effective, I don't have to wear them!"

omg, no, I said we don't *know* how effective they are. They might be the thing that saves us, we don't know! Just wear your damn mask.
Down at the core, humans are just not great at managing risk and uncertainty without an enormous amount of discipline and practice.
