Have been thinking about some useful 'direct debit' charity projects us younguns could do, that are not too financially taxing, but still beneficial to others.
Bangladesh Street Children: a favourite project of mine which various charities too. For roughly £10-30 a month, you can support the accommodation and education of a street child and keep them out of gangs and unjust labour.
Adopt a grandparent: roughly the same price bracket. Food and medication for the elderly who are either childless, abandoned or financially insecure.
Sponsor a wedding: help fund the wedding of a poor couple backhome, by donating or providing basics like food for the guests and clothes/gifts for the bride and groom.
Sponsoring orphans: I suppose this goes without saying and is perhaps one of the most popular ventures for both Muslims and non Muslims.
Syrian Education: Syrians education system has completely been eroded and set them back an entire generation. However, many charities are doing portable classrooms and providing virtual materials where possible.
More education: Expanding on that, you can also contribute to the salaries of some teachers too as well as upholding minor running costs in schools.
Farmers: Another one I'm quite passionate about, although I only know of this in India I am certain you can sponsor a farmer elsewhere too.
