A breakdown of Spurs 2nd goal. A perfect example of everything wrong at the club. Going through what each player did wrong and rating their defending on this goal.
Lucas Moura. 68th minute and he canât even give effort to run back with any kind of speed. Doing nothing to try and defend. Awful mentality. Would give him a 0 or 1 but I donât know how much of a difference his effor would have made.

Serge Aurier. Zero effort as well. No effort to close down the man on the ball and then he switches off after the ball is played and lets his man run right by him.

Moussa Sissoko. Lets his man run straight by him without doing a thing besides grabbing his arm. Never gives any thing more than just a jog. Is literally walking in the box when Osborn lays it off for the under lapping run. Zero effort and schoolboy mistakes.

Davinson Sanchez. Letâs Osborne Tum in front of him untouched but does an alright job showing him out. Could have done better to cut off the passing lane to the underlapping run, but not an awful piece of defending despite having an overall poor game.

Eric Dier. Looks like heâs supposed to be marking Mousset but completely loses him as soon as Osborn gets the ball. Is drawn toward Sander Berge and forgets about his primary duty (Mousset). Letâs the ball roll right passed him on the cutback.

Ben Davies. Marking Berge as he runs into the box but he ends up moving towards the penalty spot so he lets him go. Then proceeds to shuffle away from the goal despite Mousset standing directly in front of him for a clear and easy tap in. Schoolboy defending.

Hugo Lloris. Nothing he could really do here. Some will say he could have done better to deal with the cutback but I donât think he can get there. Maybe hugging his post too much but no real issue with his goalkeeping here.

Overall, the worst 15 seconds of defending Iâve seen in a long time. I might get bagged for copyright but I hope this thread shows what is wrong with our players from a defensive, and mental standpoint. Need new defenders and an entirely new team mindset to win silverware.
