Just watched the truly inspirational online screening of the Muslim Girls Fence film "Nobody's Metaphor". It provided a beautiful & original insight into the barriers faced by young Muslim women, battling against societal norms & institutional sporting spaces.

The film showed the passion & raw emotions felt through the really effective use of incredible poetry. It put great focus on how institutions should adapt to help make young Muslim girls feel comfortable in sporting environment and make sure their voices are heard.
We cannot expect to have more diverse sporting communities without doing whatever possible to support them. In the panel discussion, it was emphasised that NGBs should approach smaller organisations to promote inclusiveness, not just the other way round.
I believe one of the girls from the film said it perfectly “You can’t wait for it (justice), you have to make the change yourself”
