Compulsion to constantly critique people, hold them to unreasonable standards, misconstrue and misunderstand their intentions, and project onto them one's own holier-than-though attitude––it all goes back to narcissistic insecurity.
Maturity is taking responsibility for one's own insecurities, not coming for every single person who triggers them.
People need to stop and ask, "Who do I think I am, to expect others to tolerate me flattening them, stereotyping them, taking them hostage and hijacking their narrative, projecting my resentment–––just because I feel bad about myself?"
The trauma response of "humbling" folks to console one's own threatened ego or wound isn't going to fly with everyone.
