The excursion is in the right-hand lane, behind several other cars. Protesters are in the crosswalks, not surrounding cars.
Within the short time that the video pans over, the excursion had gone around the cars ahead, and into the people, who THEN surround the charging car.

This intersection does not have a turning lane to the right. In order to pass the cars ahead of it, the excursion would have had to partially drive up onto the sidewalk (where shooter was). The leading video also suggests this, as do a few tweets and fb posts from protesters.

Good information that fills in missing pieces from the news stories, for the people you know who might be confused, or even ranting that the protesters are a threatening entity for drivers and need to be neutralized.

The shooter, Jesse Taggart (now arrested), posted this the day after, which also points to the fact that the excursion drove up onto the sidewalk where people were standing.
Not sure why the driver wasn’t charged for hit and run or at least recklessness. But they should be.
