Seeing lots of talk about unfair media coverage of tech, too much criticism, tearing down not building, etc etc. and I'm confused. Because here's 1982

and 1984

and 1996

and 1997

and 2006

and 2011

If anything the overwhelmingly positive, boosterish media coverage of tech has been a massive boon to the industry and insulated it from criticism until it was well overdue.

PS It also helped reinforce what a genius/geek/wizard tech entrepreneur should look like, who should be funded, and who got to become a VC.
