Not quite the lushest Nettle bed I encountered on my Corncrake travels this week but I literally almost stood on a bird that was hiding in here!!!!!

An amazing experience.

These early and late cover plots, plus a suite of incredible meadows, give some hope to our Donegal Crex.
This early and late cover (ELC) plot was probably my favorite. It’s just a magic mosaic of Hogweed, meadow grasses and flowers and next to a species rich grassland which would make you weep tears of joy.
Growing nettles for Corncrake is a tough business- but the farmers we work with are becoming experts.
