Interviewing tip: Don't talk smack about your former employers at job interviews.

It's like talking smack about your Ex on a 1st date. Even if you're right, it's rarely a good look.

Focus on what you learned from prior roles & highlight the value you can bring to new ones.
Q: What if the interviewer specifically asks me what I didn’t like at my last job?

A: Answer the question honestly AND emphasize how you handled it and learned from it. Focus more on marketing YOUR strengths and values than your former employer's weaknesses and imperfections.
Q: What do I say at a job interview if they're asking me why I'm leaving my current position?

A: Tell them the truth AND do it in a way that emphasizes why you're excited about your new opportunity.

Question: What did you like the least at your serving job?

Bad answer: My manager didn't knew what he was doing.

Better answer: The lack of structure made it tough. Sometimes I'd serve 9-10 tables at once. It was stressful, but it taught me how to keep composure and multi-task.
Question: Why did you leave your last job?

Bad answer: It was stupid.

Better answer: I'm ready to grow beyond where my current position can take me. I want to challenge myself in new ways. Your company offers opportunities for X & Y. That's what I'm looking for at this stage.
Interviewing for a job is similar to a 1st date.

Tell the other person why you're uniquely interested in THEM

Don't go on & on about how your ex wasn't enough.

They already know that your ex wasn't enough or you wouldn't be out looking.

They want you to connect with THEM.
