(Thread) There probably isn’t much crossover between my circle on here and my love of old music, but today would have been Paul Williams of The Temptations’ 81st birthday. He was vastly under appreciated. He suffered from sickle cell anemia, and drank to deal with the pain. (1/
He was the original lead vocalist of the group, before he lost the spotlight to band mates Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin, but is by far my favorite Temptation. In addition to being the baritone of the group, he was the best dancer and wrote most of their choreography. (2/
Sickle cell is still an illness that is severely under researched and underfunded, and this is most likely do to the fact that it primarily impacts Black people. It can be absolutely debilitating and more people should be aware of it. (3/
