Wow. The EFF voted against the Civil Union Amendment Bill. ( https://pmg.org.za/bill/789/ )

This Bill repeals Section 6 of the Civil Union Act, 2006 which allowed a marriage officer to object to solemnising a same-sex civil union on the grounds of consciousness, religion and belief.
There were overwhelming more votes in for (33) then against (5). Since the Bill was passed without amendment, it will be submitted to the president for assent. (as laid out in section 75 of the Constitution).
NCOP (Upper House of Parliament) members that voted against the bill were:

Armand Benjamin Cloete (FF+) (Free State)
Sam Zandamela (EFF) (Mpumalanga)
Seneanye Betta Lehihi (EFF) (North West)
Brenda Tirhani Mathevula (EFF) (Limpopo)
Thembinkosi Tevin Apleni (EFF) (Eastern Cape)
You can confirm by watching the Plenary on YouTube. The nay votes start at 1:29:22:

Plenaries are being done over Zoom so it's difficult to watch. This is made worse by the fact that hansards (which are parliamentary transcripts) are not always available.
In this plenary, the EFF did not explain their decision. The FF+ gave an objection and the ANC gave their support. No other party commented prior to the vote. It's unclear why the EFF voted against the Bill, but it is worth asking them.
