An overview of the post-protest arrest process for Seattle:
Briefly, the arrest happens, a person is brought to the jail at 5th and James and booked. At that time, an initial bail is assigned or withheld. If withhld, that person must wait for a court appearance.

If assigned, they then meet with a “PR” officer to determine if bail will stand. If it stands-we can post the bail. If it does not stand-they are free to go at the next “release batch” which takes place every 2-4 hours typically, but which took over 8 hrs Wednesday.

If bail is initially withheld, they will have a court appearance with a public defender either in the AM (Seattle charges) or the afternoon (King Co. charges). The judge can decide to PR, or to impose bail.
