Y’all: Here in Ohio, our Director of Health, Amy Acton, ended up having to resign due to constant anti-Semitic and misogynistic harassment from MAGA-hats, and our very polite Midwestern response to this situation was “OMG, we’re so grateful for what you’ve done, Dr. Acton!”
This is unacceptable. Our police were more than capable of shutting down protests in cities throughout the state when they were protests for Black Lives, but when there’s a threat of anti-Semitic violence against a specific unarmed target? Nothing.
I’m forever grateful to Amy Acton, but we can be grateful and also call this what it was.
