It was an absolute honour to speak as an expert witness for Mona - a scientist who engaged in civil disobedience to demand climate justice.

I've never spoken in public in German before & couldn't express much beyond basic scientific facts, carefully pronouncing each word. Luckily the eyewitness from the front lines of the climate crisis - also speaking in her 4th language - conveyed the emotional side brilliantly.
Her testimony had an obvious impact. Scientists, if you're asked to be an expert witness, please do it. Beyond the individual case I think it helps ppl in the justice system understand why activists do what they do.
I'd recommend having more than 3 weeks of language lessons tho.
