My thoughts on post-lockdown Ole's United:

I should start my first thread on this account by mentioning I am a Manchester United fan who was very sceptical of Ole, and still am, but I am going to highlight some changes he's made to improve the team after the break.
Solskjaer has made many changes to the team's shape, one of which is in the build up. Ole has implemented a diamond in build up, similar to that of managers such as Arteta and Tuchel, in which Matic joins the CBs to make a back 3 and Pogba forms the top of the diamond.
This shape is very effective for United as it means that the team cannot be pressed against without having open passing lanes both inside and outside of the diamond. It also provides great numerical advantage against any opposition press.
Another change Ole has implemented alongside the diamond is in the RB position. Ole has let the RB overlap and stay high and wide in attacking phases. This has led to the opposition becoming more stretched, creating space either out wide or centrally.
This means that a quick switch to either side, which has become more common post-break, could either find Wan-Bissaka in space, or if he's closed down quickly, it'll create space centrally. This method of stretching a narrow block is best implemented under Klopp at Liverpool.
Another change I've noticed is in the use of Bruno Fernandes. Ole has been using a 3-3-1-3 attacking shape in which Matic joins the CBs and the full backs stay in line with Pogba. This gives Bruno a more free, between the lines role.
Bruno's role has essentially been an outlet for overloads. When the ball shifts to the side, he moves with it to allow a numerical advantage to opposition wide players. This has proven quite effective in creating space on opposite sides, or allowing united to progress the ball.
I would also like to point out the improvement in positional fluidity. There has been an improvement in how the team communicates and executes shifts in position, in particular the dynamic between Shaw and Rashford. One of them occupies the half space while the other holds width.
Overall, I believe there has been vast tactical improvement in Ole's United side since the lockdown break, with the team quickly resembling a more organised, fluid side. Long may it continue.
