In 1990, global GHG emissions were ~39 Gt. Agriculture (all crops & livestock) were responsible for 4.6 Gt, & ag land use (e.g., land conversion, emissions from soil, etc.) were 6.8 Gt of CO2e. These % are using GWP100 of 21 for CH4, 310 for N2O đź”—: http://www.fao.org/faostat/en/#data/EM
In 2017, the share of agriculture emissions as a % of total global GHG emissions fell. However, the total Gt of ag emissions increased from 1990 to 5.4 Gt, it's just that other global emissions sources grew more, diluting ag's % contribution.
Agriculture GHG emissions grew less than half as much as the global population from 1990 to 2017. Ag land use emissions fell 27% in the same time frame.
