At this intersection of overpolicing, the neglect shown to the residents prior to that tragic night from KCTMO and their organising to make demands on safety during the refurb of the tower - we’re reminded of the way the state sees the dispossessed as disposable
Grenfell Tower (named after the lord who led armies for the empire in South Africa, Egypt and governed Malta and Ireland) was filled with people from all corners of Britain’s empire and the poor at home
They came from the countries where policing originated and were then subject to policing at the imperial core.

The current heightened scrutiny on policing has to recognise that as long as policing continues, stories like Khadija’s will too
